As unique as the items we carry, there’s only one Borsheim’s. And that’s just
as it should be. It enables us to remain focused on serving the diverse range
of customers – as if each was our only customer. It’s a philosophy of service
that began in 1870, when Louis Borsheim opened a jewelry store in downtown
Omaha, Nebraska. In 1948, Louis Friedman bought the business. Under his son
Ike, Borsheim's grew to be one of the nation’s largest, single-unit fine
jewelry and gift retailers.

As the store gained international prominence, with loyal customers in all 50
states and six continents, it captured the attention of Warren Buffett, who
made it part of the world-renowned holding company, Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.,
in 1989. Growth continues under the leadership of Susan M. Jacques, who became
Borsheim’s President and CEO in 1994. Susan manages the business with the same
philosophy that began years ago.

Today, Borsheim’s customers enjoy a level of convenience that couldn’t possibly
have been imagined even 10 years ago. Whether shopping here online, through our
catalog or in the comfort of our single store location in Omaha, you’ll find
that there’s simply nothing like Borsheim’s.
