Wilton Armetale Company is a family-owned and family-run business founded in 1892 by Ralph P. Wilton, Sr. in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Wilton Armetale products are sold in department stores and specialty stores throughout the United States and internationally. Armetale metal is a unique, non-toxic aluminum-based alloy, making it ideal for cooking and entertaining.
Hot foods cooked and served in Wilton Armetale products stay hot longer.
Cold foods and drinks served in Wilton Armetale products stay cold longer.
ARMETALE products are crafted from a non-toxic aluminum-based alloy. ARMETALEmetal has been analyzed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and an independent third party laboratory and conforms to guidelines for the safe handling of food and beverages.
ARMETALE products are also durable and will not rust, break, crack or chip under normal usage. Each ARMETALE product is a solid piece of metal with no coating applied.
Our product comes in two finishes - one finish is a high polish similar to silver and the other is a matte finish similar to pewter. The two types of finishes are produced through different manufacturing processes.
Don't be misled by the beauty; Wilton Armetale® serveware is made to be used.
Its beauty is long-lasting, without the handle-with-care cautions and constant polishing demanded by silver products.
Simply wash your Armetale serveware with mild soap, then rinse with hot water and towel-dry. Automatic dishwashers are not recommended because the chemicals in water may harm the metal's fine finish. However, slight scratches caused by the cutting action of knives and forks are normal. They lend character and an air of authenticity to your serveware.
As with any metal, it is not recommended that food be stored in your pieces for a sustained period of time, especially foods containing fatty acids, salad dressing or vinegar. If staining or discoloration does occur prepare a combination of baking soda and water to form a paste.
Rub the paste on the piece and towel dry. Apply Armetale® polish to lift the remaining stain and restore the shine.
