More For Your Money
The Kalahari Dream Diamond is part of a global initiative to change lives in local communities by fostering economic growth and education initiatives.
A Goal to Do More
Access to clean water can save a life. Now thanks to our customers and Kalahari Dream Diamonds sales, Borsheims is able to provide safe water for thousands. That is just the beginning…
A Statement of Sustainability
The Kalahari Dream Diamond is part of the diamond industry’s global initiative to change lives in local communities by fostering economic growth and education initiatives in southern Africa. It's the first of its kind in that the diamond's region of origin is provided and a portion of the proceeds directly impact the communities where these diamonds are mined and polished. Diamonds help these nations enjoy greater gender development, higher income per capita and more years in school. They reflect the same strength, resilience, and magic of the desert they are named after.
Your Kalahari Dream Diamond is more than a statement of beauty - it's a statement of sustainability.
In partnership with Leo Schachter, a portion of the proceeds from Kalahari Dream Diamond sales goes towards supporting child care for orphans whose mothers have died from the HIV/AIDS virus before they reach school age, alongside healthcare and lifesaving HIV/AIDS drugs.
Supporting the Community
With many women living as single mothers and sole breadwinners in the Kalahari region, employment with Leo Schachter improves the lives of many villagers. The Molepolole factory employs local women and men who take pride in creating stunning beauty from the diamonds found in their homeland while providing a living for their families.
Sustainable Water Delivery
Life for villagers in Malwelwe and Ngware was difficult due to the hot savannah climate, low rainfall and shared borehole where water access was limited and inconsistent. Through sales of the Kalahari Dream Diamonds over two years, Borsheims and Leo Schachter were able to construct a direct, consistent water delivery system to this drought-impacted region with plans for another delivery system in the future.
Saving the Rhinos
Inspired by our diamond buyer Heather’s trip to South Africa and the incredible work of the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, a portion of the proceeds from each Kalahari Dream Diamond Rhino Pendant are donated to the organization to ensure shelter and care for orphaned rhinos, including Baby Zac, a rhino our diamond buyer took care of during her trip.
