Community & Philanthropy

Borsheims Gives

As an Omaha institution for more than 150 years, Borsheims is proud to give back to the community that has given us so much. Corporate citizenry is part of the fabric of our company and echoes Borsheims’ vision to be part of the special moments in our customers’ lives. As our Chairman, Warren Buffett, has been known to say, “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone else planted a tree long ago.” It is through our “Borsheims Gives” program that Borsheims strives to live this sentiment.

Women in Business

FOCUS AREA:

Women's Initiatives

As a woman-led business, we understand the importance of supporting area female-focused organizations. Our past support has been towards organizations such as the Women’s Center for Advancement, A Time to Heal, The Women’s Fund, Santa Monica House, and many more. Our associates have helped conduct interview preparation classes and organized donations to career closets. Our support has also extended to exposing young students to the craft of jewelry as a future career path. As an evolving business we look forward to continuing our support to meet our communities’ needs.

Children

FOCUS AREA:

Local Child Initiatives

Children-focused organizations have historically been major recipients of Borsheims’ philanthropic efforts. We have long supported Jewelers for Children, an industry-wide initiative to provide for children in need. Locally, Borsheims supports many child-centered organizations through mentoring, organizing necessity drives, fundraisers, and more. Borsheims is honored to be a small part in our children’s lives.

Community Interests

FOCUS AREA:

Omaha Area Initiatives

Omaha’s long tradition of community support has been knitted into Borsheims corporate citizenry. As a big, small town Borsheims supports the companies and people that power our city. Whether it's legacy institutions or up and coming non-profits, we’re proud to direct dollars that make Omaha, Omaha.

Employee Match

EMPLOYEE BENEFIT:

Matching Dollars
in Support

If it matters to our employees, then it matters to Borsheims. We are proud to support our employees’ philanthropic efforts financially. Whether they provide hours or dollars in support of local organizations, then Borsheims will match up to $500 in additional support. Our people are our most important investment, and we are proud to support what matters to them.

Stewardship in Business

Social responsibility is equally important to Borsheims as our philanthropy. Through our Kalahari Dream Diamond Collection, Borsheims strives to provide ethically and responsibly sourced diamonds. It’s as simple as buy a diamond and help change a community. These global initiatives aim to change lives by fostering growth and education initiatives through diamond mining production.

Volunteering

Volunteering Our Support

Borsheims is committed to impacting the Omaha community with our hearts and hands while building lasting relationships with one another. Borsheims organizes several volunteer opportunities for employees throughout the year to support local organizations through our Borsheims Gives Program.
